We are excited to announce the successful funding of the UCSD CE21 CS Principles project.
The Computing Education for the 21st Century (CE21) solicitation from the National Science Foundation provides funding for the ComPASS program. The visionary behind ComPASS is Dr. Beth Simon, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at UCSD. Beth is deeply committed to helping preservice and in-service teacher education students teach an engaging new computer science principles curriculum based around the Alice 3D program. Beth is also on the advisory board of the College Board’s CS Principles Course development program, and she directs a phase 1 pilot site in which she has taught and continues to teach her CS Principles to hundreds of non-computer science students in UCSD’s Sixth College both face-to-face and online.
